Aerobic exercise increases cardiopulmonary function.
Running, cycling, power walking, swimming, elliptical trainer, and cross-country skiing are excellent at improving cv health. Pick one or more and exercise for 40-60 minutes 4-6 days a week. Try to get you heart rate up to a high but safe level - a common formula is 80% (220-your age). See your dr first when starting a new exercise program.
