Breast cancer? Tumors arising from the lubules of the breast glands are called lubular cancer which can be either lebeled as in situ or invasive. The in situ cancers are very early cancers and can be easily cured. Neoplasia means new growth, usually cancerous.
Precancerous. It is a precancerous condition which puts one at an increased risk for developing breast cancer in both breasts and not just the breast it was diagnosed in. The increased risk is about 5-10x compared to a normal breast. Unlike dcis (ductal carcinoma in situ) it is not a surgical disease unless one opts for a prophylactic mastectomy. Getting annual mammograms would be important to follow up with.
