No. No studies show that acupuncture can treat erectile dysfunction (ed). However, professionally done acupuncture is unlikely to harm a person. More importantly, ED can be a symptom of a serious illness such as diabetes, poor circulation, hormonal imbalances, medicine side effects, psychological disorders, etc..., and should be discussed with one's primary care physician.
Yes and no. . May help with pain or stress (if you Believe in it enough). Much of ED is mental. However, there are serious issues such as vascular diseases , medications etc that can also cause ED. Acupuncture would not be expected to help in those cases. See a urologist or your primary. If nothing medical, could then try therapy or acupuncture. .
Non-organic ED. There are auricular protocols for premature ejaculation, impotence & decreased sexual desire. The world health organization lists "male sexual dysfunction, non-organic" under the category of "diseases, symptoms or conditions for which the therapeutic effect of acupuncture has been shown but for which further proof is needed.".
