In brief: Topical steroids
Topical steroids would be first line treatment but this condition is difficult to control in some people.
Injections of kenalog (triamcinolone) may be more effective and pro topic ointment could be used intermittently with the steroids to miniimize thinning of the skin. An old treatment which needs to be compounded is 2% testosterone propionate in aquaphor which does not cause thinning of the skin.
