In brief: Tylenol (acetaminophen)

Tylenol (acetaminophen) is a safe medication and can be taken for general body aches.
Warm compresses, comfortable shoes, periodic rest can also help with the pain.

In brief: Pilates/Yoga

Lots of upper and lower back pain, especially towards the end of pregnancy is from back strains associated with pregnancy.
Good stretching exercises and pilates or yoga with trained therapists can help ease these common aches and pains. I find these exercises also help strenthen your "core" which really helps pushing in labor.
