In brief: No necessarily

Not necessarily.
Pain needs to be assessed completely. If it is only a muscular pain caused by strain, then diagnostic tests won't be helpful. Doctors should order diagnostic imaging and testing if progressive or severe neurological deficits are suspected, or when they are thinking of serious underlying conditions on their examination.

In brief: Probably not

If the pain persists and is unbearable than an xray and MRI may be warranted.
See your dr. And start a pt program along with some medications like Motrin advil (ibuprofen) etc.
