How long does it take for eyes to completely heal after lasik? I here it takes up to 5 years for the nerves to heal.

In brief: Answer

Patients who undergo lasik can typically return to their normal activities within days.
And most patients can drive their car the next day. A percentage of patients can take a few weeks to even a few months to reach their final vision. As well, during this time period, the lasik flap heals and becomes secure. So essentially the eye heals over the course of a few weeks to months.

In brief: Maybe never

The corneal nerves take a long time to heal, and some people who get dry eyes after Lasix (furosemide) never return to normal lacrimation.
Remember that Lasix (furosemide) works by scarring the cornea, so "completely heal" is impossible.

In brief: Nerve regeneration

Basal nerve plexus is back to levels close to baseline by 1 year after surgery although vision is excellent much quicker.
