In brief: Treat the cause
First off, try to treat the underlying cause of the fatigue.
Common medical causes are anemia, thyroid disorder, cardiovascular or pulmonary diseases, and many other chronic diseases. However, the majority of people who are tired just don't get enough sleep and exercise and aren't eating properly.

In brief: Find the cause
The causes of fatigue are multi-factorial.
Often times fatigue is caused by problems with: sleep, hormones, heavy metals, infections, nutrient deficiencies, from lack of exercise, poor oxygenation and food allergies. Once you find the cause(s), then you can treat them and they will resolve.

In brief: Sleep,diet,exercise
Some common sense solutions to more energy (or problems with fatigue) include getting 6-8 hours of good sleep, aerobic exercise daily (meaning walking, jogging, swimming, elliptical) and a balanced diet.
For the majority of people, this is enough to boost energy levels. I'd stay away from the caffeine and the "5 hour energy drinks" - they boost energy, but the effect is short lived. Cheers!

In brief: Paleo diet/low carb
Contrary to popular belief, best way to improve fatigue, cholesterol, and weight is by stopping high carb foods (grains, lentils, potatoes based items).
Also avoid milk protein since it causes inflammation. Low carb foods: eggs, fish, meats, vegetables, avocados, some saturated fat (butter, coconut oil), olive oil are very effective. Take vitD3 daily. You should notice a difference in 1 month

In brief: Find & Rx cause
Chronic fatigue syndrome is a multifactorial consequence of hormonal, immune system and nervous system dysfunction resulting from genetic predispositions and dietary and environmental insults.
These factors impair the patient's ability to produce energy and they end up chronically fatigued. There are numerous internal & external stressors that can contribute to this syndrome. Find & rx.
