In brief: Don't stop ....

It wouldn't be good to stop being her friend.
It's better to be supportive, to not judge, to offer her help when she needs it. She has the right to do what she pleases with her life but don't stop trying for her. Be a good support for her kids, help her through tough times and encourage he always to seek help.

In brief: Be supportive

Many people are compelled to enter treatment by the pressure of their family, friends, or a court system. However, there is no evidence that confrontational "interventions" like those familiar from TV programs are effective at convincing people they have a problem or motivating them to change.
