Fruits have lots of sugar and starch, which can lead to pre-diabetes (not good for the cholesterol or arteries). Vegetables would be a better bet, but one should avoid high salt (sodium) items. Avoid adding salt during cooking, because salt increases blood pressure. V8 vegetable juice has a low sodium variety.
