I don't want to take propecia (finasteride)...What natural supplements can I take to help slow hair loss?

Topical minoxidil. If you want to avoid oral meds consider topical Minoxidil in 2-5 % strength aka rogaine (minoxidil).
There are none. There are no vitamins, herbs, supplements, foods, nor drinks that are proven to slow hair loss (male pattern baldness in men). Maintaining a balanced diet of healthy foods, and taking one multivitamin + minerals tablet each day, should keep a person in normal, good nutritional status . . . So his scalp and hair should be as healthy as they can be. Unusual hair loss should be checked by a doctor.

I'm 30 years old and I suffer from hair loss, would taking a supplement that increases testosterone naturally cause more DHT? I also take Propecia.

I had hair loss from taking the supplement creatine since it raises dht. I'm on Propecia (finasteride) now so would it be safe on hair to take creatine again?

Wouldn't risk it. Supplemental creatine is generally marketed as a way to increase length of workouts & thereby cause faster muscle build-up. However, there is no proof that it works & in your case seems to have instigated a medical problem (alopecia). It stands to reason that you risk more hair loss if you restart. Propecia, (finasteride) to my knowledge, doesn't interfere with creatine, so there's still potential for hair loss. Read more...

Sure. That stuff about creatine promoting baldness is fantasy fiction. And you'll look better with muscle in any case. Nothing looks better than a trim, bulked, balding man with some well-groomed facial hair. Best wishes. Read more...

I am taking finasteride 1mg for hair loss. So can taking a weightllifting supplement like nitric oxide be safe to take along with finasteride?

Should be fine. It is safe to take them at the same time. Finasteride reduces the activity of nitric oxide synthase in the body, which reduces circulating nitric oxide levels. Supplemental nitric oxide may reverse this, but there is little scientific evidence that supplements actually improve weightlifting gains. Read more...

Will taking the supplement glycerol hydromax (glycerol, silica) interact with 1mg of finasteride? I'm taking fin for hair loss. Thanks

No. The supplement you are taking is an overpriced placebo. Creatine and aerobic training will do you much more good. The finasteride is your business. If you're a supplementing bodybuilder, consider simply embracing your genetic heritage. Nothing looks better than a 31 year old man who's strong, trim, with some nice well-trimmed facial hair, probably some great body hair, and some macho balding. Read more...
