Are there any auto immune diseases that would cause low estrogen?

In brief: Not likely

The high ratio of women to men in sle has been theoretically attributed to the uplifting effect of estrogen on the immune system during child-bearing years but there is much data to contradict this.
In addition, the replacement of estrogen postmenopause does not change the sle frequency or severity. There is no evidence to suggest low estrogen as a result of autoimmune diseases.
