I've been reading about wheat being a frankengrain and rather unhealthy for us. Is that true?

Frankengrains are simply grains or cereals with a high carbohydrate load and low fiber content.
These grains have a high gylcemic index and can raise post meal glucose to a relatively very high level. This is a big problem for anyone with pre-diabetes or diabetes. Anyone within gluten sensitivities should also avoid these grains and cereals.
