Ice 20 minutes twice a day for one or two weeks often helps calm it down sooner. Also for 7-14 days take an over the counter anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen (2-3 200 mg tablets 3 times a day) or Naproxen (220 mg tablets 1-2 twice a day). If not better or improving, see your primary care doctor.
