In brief: Drug use = dangerous
Your question implies a tacit approval for recreational drug use.
This is never appropriate. Lsd & other hallucinogens (psilocybins, pcp, wet mj, ecstacy) can be very dangerous to your general & brain health. There is absolutely no benefit to using these drugs. One bad trip can lead to a life of schizoaffective disorder and a vegetative state.

No, the risk seems to be one to one. Any single use might result in a psychotic break.

In brief: Bad things
Chronic use can lead to depression, violent behavior, anxiety or a distorted perception of time.
Flashbacks can be very disturbing, and the delusional changes can lead to psychosis and schizophrenia. These things lead to a lack of success in school and work.
