In brief: Yes

There are many therapies.
You simply need to meet with your neurologist to figure out the best regimen to control the symptoms and have an excellent quality of life.

In brief: Good question

In absence of relapses, our approved meds do not seem of value in progressive forms of MS.
Gilenya (fingolimod) research will be revealed in Fall 2014 and Rituxamab and Ocrilizamab are being studied. Don't despair, we are working on it. In meantime, vitamin D-3, low fat, low salt diets can't hurt.

In brief: Not yet

This type of MS behaves differently from relapsing remitting ms, but share some characteristics in common with secondary progressive ms.
Recent therapeutic trials have fallen short of showing definitive benefit. Supportive care remains the current main focus. Clinical trials and research however are moving foward.
