I’ve heard there is a nonsurgical alternative for rhinoplasty. How does this work?

In brief: Injectable filler
Non-surgical rhinoplasty is performed with an injectable filler such as restylane, (dermal fillers) Radiesse or juvederm.
Only certain "nose shapes" lend themselves to non-surgical shaping. Large noses that require "reduction" are not well suited to this technique. Noses that require augmentation of the nasal bridge, noses that have minor contour irregularities, and narrow noses are the best candidates.

In brief: Not an alternative
Although temporary injectable fillers can be used around the nose for minor contour concerns, this is not an alternative to rhinoplasty surgery.
Even temporary fillers should be used with caution around the nose and only be done by experienced physicians. Permanent fillers such a silicone should never be used around the nose because of the high risks.

In brief: Injectables
Absorbable - medium term and non-absorbable long term injectables can improve most small nose irregularities.
Silicone injections have gained more acceptance but are not recommended.

In brief: Filler Rhinoplasty
Non Surgical Rhinoplasty is a real alternative to surgery for select patients.
It is performed with temporary fillers such as Restylane, (dermal fillers) Voluma and Radiesse as well as more permanent fillers like Artefill. Results are excellent (sometimes more precise than surgery), risks are low, but the injector must be very experienced in the technique. Experience, not board certification is most important.

In brief: Nonsurgical nosejob
Nonsurgical rhinoplasty is performed by injecting facial fillers to augment the nose.
The two most common indications are for dorsal augmentation (building the height of the bridge) and for addressing minor contour irregularities. It's a low-impact, in-office procedure with minimal downtime, but the results are temporary (typically 6-12 months).

In brief: Non surgical option
Hi, there are a small population of rhinoplasty candidates who can benefit from non surgical rhinoplasty.
Usually these are Asian or african american patients who desire higher bridges with more definition. Surgically this is achieved with dorsal cartilage onlay grafts but non surgically the same visual effect can be accomplished with a relatively safe dermal filler such as restylane (dermal fillers).

Injectable fillers can correct some cosmetic problems with noses, but many problems can only managed with some form of rhinoplasty (nose surgery).
I would certainly recommend evaluation by an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate your nose and face and help you choose the best option to help you gain the results you desire.

Like all the other replies, there are options (generally not good ones in most cases) for a non-surgcal rhinoplasty.
While i can understand it may seem more appealing to pursue a non-surgical option, like most non-surgical options, they tend to give less dramatic or shorter lasting results.

In brief: Injectable Fillers
Injection rhinoplasty is a non-surgical, non-invasive procedure utilizing injectable fillers such as restylane, (dermal fillers) juvederm, Radiesse or artefill.
It works best to straighten or to improve the look of noses with bumps or dips, but is not useful to issues related to the tips of noses. The procedure takes less than 30 minutes and results can last months to years, depending on the filler used.
