In brief: Glans inflammation

Inflammation of both glans penis and foreskin is balanoposthitis.
Both commonly occur together in uncircumcised males. Inflammation of the foreskin, most commonly with phimosis (tight foreskin) is often incorrectly called balanitis, whereas it is in fact posthitis.

In brief: Inflammation

Whenever there is "itis" at the end of a word, it means there is inflammation of the organ it follows.
For example, appendicitis means inflammation of the appendix. Balanitis is inflammation of the foreskin in an uncircumcised individual. It is usually due to bacteria being present under the foreskin. It is more common in individuals who can not retract the foreskin because of a tight opening

Balanitis & posthitis almost always occur together in uncircumcised males. Strictly speaking balanitis is inflammation of the glans penis & thus can occur in uncircumised. Posthitis is inflammation of the foreskin. Majority of Drs refer to posthitis as balanitis, maybe because the word is a bit of a tongue twister. Otherwise Dr. Mesrobian's answer is excellent.
