Although there is no safe way to permanently change your pigmentation, some topical treatments such as hydroquinone, can cause temporary lightening of skin pigment and spots.
A little less effective but safer for long term use are products containing kojic acid and arbutin. These products work by suppressing melanin production. Medical grade products work better than over the counter creams.
