If you get stabbed on the chest, should you take the knife out or leave it in?

Leaving the knife in will help limit the amount of bleeding (almost like a finger in a dam).

In brief: Don't touch it.
Removing the knife could cause bleeding from a source which is currently controlled.
It should not be removed until you are in a controlled situation.
