My mother died of ipf. Should I be worried about this disease?

In brief: IPF

There have been cases of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis reported in families.
I have one patient who has had several family members have this process. There are no formal recommendations for family members of patients with ipf. I would make sure that your primary care physician is aware of your family history and is able to refer you to a specialist if needed.
