In brief: Depression sometimes

Obese people, like non-obese people, come in all moods and personalities.
However, depression symptoms can be seen more often in obese people. Some people who are depressed eat a lot to try to soothe their sadness. Other obese people become depressed due to the social and medical complications of obesity. Depression is treatable with medications. Compulsive eating, as an ocd, occurs sometimes.
