In brief: Contact lenses
Step 1-- wash your hands and dry with clean cloth; step 2-- stand at mirror; step 3-- pick up contact lens with index finger-- place on fiinger tip; step 4-- look straight ahead at mirror and pull down lower eyelid with other index finger; step 5-- slowly place the lens on the cornea, making sure to look straight ahead while doing so; step 6-- slowly blink to center the contact; step 7-- other eye.

In brief: Lens hygiene
As in removing the lens, always make sure your hands and fingernails are thoroughly cleaned and avoid introducing the nail into the corneal surface.
Place the lens on the fingerpad of your forefinger in the correct orientation (lens edge up and curvature smooth) and with your fourth finger, lower your lower eyelid. Then gently place the lens onto the corneal surface. Do this in front of a mirror first if inexperienced. Close eyelids and roll eyes so lens hugs surface snugly.
