In brief: Replace hormones

Your adrenal glands are not making enough cortisol and aldosterone.
These hormones are important for maintaining blood pressure and salt balance. Your doctor will put you on corticosteroids, and maybe aldosterone(florinef) . You may need to adjust the dose of your medications with your doctor. With proper medical management, people with addison's disease can live long healthy lives.

In brief: Improvement

If the diagnosis (addison's) was made correctly and you are now properly treated (right dose of steroid), you will feel dramatic improvement in term of energy level as well as normalization of electrolyte problems.
Make sure you take the pills as instructed by your treating physician.

In brief: Adrenal insufficient

Patients no longer make cortisol so treatment consists of replacing this with other steroids like Hydrocortisone pills a few times/day. Illness requires stress dose steroid dosing. Patients also have to be screened for other autoimmune diseases which can be associated, like thyroid and celiac sprue. An endocrinologist is a must.
