In brief: Treat you
A general pacticioner should be able to treat you competently&d appropriately for a penumonia either as an outpatient or as an inpatient.
Should he or she feel uncomfortable, they most assuredly will seek consultaiton from someone in a specialty field to help them further treat you. I would feel confident with a generalist physician treating this condition. Ask questions or seek other opinions.

In brief: Treat it
The treatment of pneumonia is initially straight forward and involves deciding if the patient needs hospitalization, and selecting antibiotics.
A primary care doctor is comfortable treating pneumonia. A lung specialist would be more involved if there is a complication, or diagnostic questions. ( for ex respiratory failure needing support with a ventilator, or a patient needing bronchoscopy).
