However, the consequences of tobacco dependence, like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer, and emphysema certainly can cause depression by virtue of the fact that they give you chronic medical conditions to deal with on a daily basis. It cannot be stressed enough how bad smoking is for your health.
