There's a white bump on the left side of my tongue. I never burned my tongue. Is this normal?

In brief: Might be ok
Have your local md or ENT evaluate it.
It might just be trauma from an old bite on the tongue, or an area where the tongue rubs on a sharp tooth. However, any lump in the mouth or throat, especially if enlarging with time, needs to be checked out.

as above but if you smoke, chew tobacco, use a pipe and/or drink to any extent, it is best to have your dentist take a quick look.
In brief: Sometimes
It could be from biting the tongue.
If it is still there in a week then make an appointment to see your dentist.
