It's not about food. If you're using food to resolve emotional distress or conflict, keep in mind that emotional eating is a symptom of the problem, not "the" problem. It's important to identify what's eating "at" you, rather than focusing on food. Identify the emotional triggers to the behavior and find new ways to respond to yourself. Therapy can be extremely helpful in this regard, to develop new ways to cope.
