In brief: Hypothyroidism

The various hormones of pregnancy may cause a change in the dose of thyroid medication you will need to stay well controlled.
Never just stop your meds without talking to your doc.

In brief: Pregnancy + Thyroid

Your hormone levels may affect your TSH and your dose of T4 & T3 (liothyronine) if added.
Generally, the dose goes up. It's essential to adequately replace thyroid levels to protect both mother & child. Without the mother's thyroid supply, the fetus is in jeopardy. Also, autoimmune thyroiditis, hashimoto's , most common cause of hypothy., is often triggered by sex hormone changes(preg., menarche, menopause).
