How do I take dangerous objects away from my dependent who loves to use them?

In brief: Put out of reach
Prevention is key.
Dangerous objects should be locked away, or where a young one cannot reach. If the young one has such an object, convincing him/her to trade the object for something more interesting but safer may help.
