In brief: Female Brain
The female brain is designed and made to care for others especially for children (maternal "gene").
All the female senses are more accurate and sensitive to attend the needs of others in their surroundings: vision, smell, hearing, voice, touch and taste. Females are multitasking.

In brief: By Nature
Women generally are the major caretakers both genetically and culturally.
That does not mean that men don't care, they do, and their caring is needed in the family. It's also true that womens sleep patterns vary some from a mens and they are more prone to dream and remember and to wake up more often. We blame hormones for a lot but hormones are necessary for infant survival.
