In brief: Care for yourself

Being a caregiver can cause stress and be both mentally and physically draining.
To be an effective caregiver, you must remember to first take care of yourself. Take a break from caregiving; seek pleasurable activities, exercise, find new hobbies, do something you've always wanted to do but didn't have the time, etc. You provide the best care when you are at your best.
