It is common for patients to have a seizure immediately following a concussion.
This does not usually cause a seizure disorder. After 1 week, the risk of another seizure is almost the same as someone who did not have a seizure. Severe traumatic brain injury can cause long term seizure disorders.

The most powerful correlation is the seizure occurring immediately with a head injury, called an impact seizure.
In general this is a benign event. Seizures that occur later are more likely to be related to concussion but not often. The correlation with trauma is with brain contusions, bruising with blood in the substance of the brain.
