Is geographic tongue permanent or will it go away? How long will this geographic tongue last or is this permanent illness? .

In brief: Normal Finding

Geographic tongue is quite common and needs no treatment.
The "map-like" pattern it gets it's name from will change and wax and wane over time and this is also nothing to worry about at all. It is basically patchy areas of the tongue where the normal pappilla simply disappear for a while.

In brief: Generally long time

Dr. Pohlhaus gave you a great answer. Geographic tongue usually lasts for years and may never go away, although as he mentioned, the bald areas come and go, both in size and location over time.
It is completely benign and nothing to be concerned about.
