How can I reduce the appearance of acne scars?

Multiple options. Acne scars come in several "flavors." there are ice pick scars, boxcar scars, rolling scars and atrophic scars. Acne scars are difficult to treat. There is no "magic bullet." scar excision/revision, injectable fillers/fat, subcision, laser, chem peel, dermabrasion, etc. Many treatments can "improve" the flatness of the scar, and/or texture of the skin, but it will not make your skin flawless.
Topicals and Lasers. First, make sure the acne is completely clear using appropriate treatments with topical regimens, antibiotics, or isotretinoin. After your acne is clear, consider treatment of remaining scarring with the fraxel re:store or fractionated c02 lasers.
Acne scar treatments. A variety of approaches are necessary to improve not remove acne scars. Specific therapy is dependent on the type of scars and skin type. Potential therapies include subcision, cross tca, medical roll cit, dermabrasion, laser and other treatments, including prp.

I understand massaging acne scars greatly improves their appearance, what should I use while massaging (that wont clog pores)?

Whoa. Massaging acne scars won't do anything. I'm sorry your acne was neglected in the first place leaving you scarred, and i'm glad you've found the courage to take isotretinoin. Your scars are for keeps unless you opt for specialist treatment with a laser, microsurgery, or a filler. Or you may choose to keep them for the tough-guy look as several hollywood leads have done. I've . I've never heard of mesotherapy for acne scars and wrinkles. It is usually used for fat reduction and its effectiveness is not proven. As a rule, the old adage "no pain, no gain" applies to cosmetic surgery as well as to exercise. Possible. Any injection into the skin can leave bruising. It depends on your own capillary fragility and other factors. Irrespective of what you inject in most cases. P.S. Mesotherapy . Mesotherapy involves multiple small injections into the skin of various chemicals depending on the intent of the treatment. Typically reddness and swelling will be present after the procedure and can last for several hours to days after the treatment. A optional technique is the use of a medical dermaroller which is roller with multiple fine needles that is applied by rolling the needlesover the area after applying a topical anesthetic. The small needles cause increased circulation into the dermis layer of skin as well as the release of growth factors from the blood plasma that stimulate fibroblasts to form new collagen and fill in acne scars. The procedure is performed in the office and swelling and reddness will last for a few days. Cover makeup and sunscreen can be applied over the reddness the day after the procedure. Depending on the depth of the scaring multiple sessions may be required to acheive desired results. Read more...
