In brief: Stop the medication

The most common medication can increase body weight and cause stretch marks is glucocorticosteroids.
Discontinue it might help. The treatment for stretch marks is no different from the stretch marks caused by physiological factors (overweight, pregnancy, etc.). Unfortunately, no good therapeutic regimens.

In brief: Stretch marks

Stretch marks are scars in the dermis of the skin.
Once they form they are permanent. The red color can be treated with a laser to leave a flesh colored area that is not as noticeable but the dermal scar is always there. Surgery can remove the stretch marks however a scar usually in a less obvious spot is required like in a tummy tuck.
