Probably. Cymbalta (duloxetine) for depression is fine. I find no indication for the use of Naltrexone in depression. If you are referring to just having to use the two at the same time, i find no contraindication for using the two together, ie, no drug to drug interaction. Both drugs are for serious illness and make shure you thoroughly discuss this with your pcp, addiction md, other provider or pharmacist/pharmd.
Yes. There is no contraindications to that combination.
Naltrexone. The only literature of which I am aware of Naltrexone being used to decrease depression would be the theory of low dose naltrexone. There is some evidence that low-dose Naltrexone (ldn) can upregulate endogenous opioid activity and may have a role in promoting stress resilience, exercise, social bonding, and emotional well-being, as well as amelioration of psychiatric problems such as depression.
I'm taking cymbata for depression & migraines, but I'm gaining a lot weight. Is their something I could take to help not gain lbs, &still take cymbalta (duloxetine)?
Have tried many drugs for anxiety & depression. Currently taking cymbalta (duloxetine) & klonopin. Depression persists with previous/current drugs. Suggest new med?

Are there any long term health consequences for taking Cymbalta (duloxetine) long term? I have been on it for 7+ years for depression. Currently 30 mg.
Not really. You need a regular physical yearly and when you take any medications long-term, your doctor usually checks your metabolic profile, complete blood count, and general profile to rule out any illnesses and any unusual findings will be monitored. In addition, your dose is low and may just be a maintenance dose. You may want to discuss further with your doctor. Read more...
