In brief: Interact &Talk &Talk
Get close to them so your face is close to theirs.
Hold eye contact. Babies at these ages love faces! mirror what they do - their sounds, facial expressions, actions - & see how they respond. Make your own funny faces. Get on their level, crawl w/ them. Dance w/ them. And all the while, talk to them! tell them stories. Sing them songs. Read to them. When they're upset say & do soothing things.

In brief: Be with them
Just be with them, noticing their voice, their movements, their faces, their preferences.

In brief: Typical behaviors
The six to nine month old will achieve a sitting posture with help and learn to pass objects from one hand to another. Your baby will try to taste anything within reach so remember to put toxic agents and small objects far out of reach.
You will see knee rocking early with a move to crawling at eight or nine months. Baby will then pull to stand. Most will begin to babble.
