In brief: Forever
Like any scar from surgery, this scar is permanent.
In some patients, this scar will elongate with advancing age, but not in everyone.

In brief: Likely for life
Any time you cut thru the skin, the healing process is unlikely to be perfect.
A scar line or a dimpling will be expected and varies with location and type of repair. Some fade quite a bit over time and others may persist & dimple more. Occasionally, a revision (surger) is attempted to improve the appearance but provides no guarantee of perfect outcome.

A scar from a pyloromyotomy will be life long.
The original scar was in the right upper quadrant and tansverse in orientation. Now pediatric surgeons are using the umbilicus(belly button) which leaves lettle or no scar. Ask your pediatric surgeon on their technique.
