Sometimes people talk about "schizophrenia" when they really are asking about psychosis--hallucinations, delusions, and other impairments in reality testing.
Schizophrenia is only one disorder that causes psychosis. If major disruptions in body chemistry, e.g., very high concentrations of calcium or servere hyperthyroidism or pesticides are the cause, its called an organic psychosis.
