If my child had rds as a youngster, is she predisposed to other problems as she grows up?

Not usually. Rds, lung disease of prematurity, typically does not have long term problems unless an infant is on a breathing machine for a prolonged period of time. Prematurity can have long term effects however, which vary on the degree of prematurity.
Not necessarily. Respiratory distress syndrome can predispose one to lung problems later...Like perhaps getting colds easier or remotely being at higher risk for asthma. However it can also be an isolated event. Eating well...As much organic as possible, exercise, being outdoors. Simple tools for staying healthy can prevent later problems.
