Does mercury poisoning lead to autism? If so, can I detox my child to prevent her from getting autism?

In brief: No
Mercury does not cause autism nothing you do will prevent autism for your child.

If your child has had mercury poisoning (not from vaccines, but real, actual mercury poisoning), there are treatments.... but they don't prevent autism. It prevents peripheral nerve damage and mental retardation.

In brief: Not in amounts
Mercury poisoning causes an acute encephalopathy - something like encephalitis.
The mercury found in medicines is a tiny amount that has been proven to be safe. Most medicines no longer use mercuric salts as disinfectants or preservatives. Best way to deal with autism is to have it diagnosed as young as possible & follow through with known effective treatments. See your pediatrician for diagnosis.

In brief: Don't be hoodwinked
The amounts of mercury from thimerosal preservatives in vaccines ranged from 12.
5 to 25 ?g per dose. By comparison, a can of tuna contains 11.5 ?g of mercury. It is dangerous to avoid vaccination from a deadly disease use the "mercury" argument. You child's life is at stake!

In brief: Causation- NOT TRUE!
The person citing the article in j of inorganic biochemistry.
It uses a a logic algorithm (hill's criteria) to show a strong association- however, this is not causation. Hill's criteria doesn't take into consideration, the complex interplay between genetics and environmental factors that contribute to the diversity seen in autistic children. To conclude so, is a seriously wrong interpretation.

In brief: No current Evidence
Although mercury in some forms, not all, is a neurotoxin, there is no evidence of any association of causation with autism.
The causes of autism are currently totally unknown. There is subsequently no proven therapy including so called detoxification. And these can be dangerous including life threatening.Experts with proper credentials can help.

In brief: May contribute
Mercury is a known neurotoxin and there is a wide range of sensitivity to its effects of mercury (and other heavy metals).
There are many contributing factors in autism, including mercury, and thus a comprehensive approach is wise. Don't assume nothing can be done as is commonly espoused by so called "experts." guided care can provide gratifying improvement and no single therapy works for all.

Disagree.there is ample epidemiological evidence that mercury is not a contributing factor.

A new study in journal of inorganic biochemistry, 2011 found a causal relationship between aluminum in vaccines and autism.
