In brief: Herbs are drugs too

Most small molecule drugs are derived from herbs.
So herbs are drugs & should be treated with the same degree or awareness & caution. Both melatonin & chamomile, common herbs used to promote sleep, should not be used in pregnancy. How about trying meditation or listening to a recording or ocean waves? If you must use something try benadryl (diphenhydramine). It makes most people sleepy & is rated pregnancy class b.

In brief: Unknown

Because the fda does not monitor herbal supplements it really is not a good idea to take these treatments.
Better to get less rest and nap when the baby naps than take something that could harm you or the baby.
