In brief: Dx Pulmonary Embolus

A ventillation perfusion lung scan is a nuclear test used to diagnose a blood clot to the lung or pulmonary embolus.
Medication is injected into your vein and you also breath a medication into the lung to look for a mismatch on a nuclear imaging camera which would suggest a pulmonary embolus.
