Yes it is also called the left atrioventricular valve.

Laus Deo :-) for the correction from Surgeon Mott. Left atrioventricular valve means the valve between the atrium and ventricle on the left side of the heart. It's easier to say/write/remember mitral instead of left atrioventricular.
