In brief: Everyone

Anyone can develop HTN (hypertension).
Some populations seem to be at greater risk (ie. African americans) but much of it probably has to do with other factors such as diet, weight, exercise, etc. Most commonly HTN tends to run in families so family history is very important.

In brief: Anybody

Hypertension affects everyone, including children.
It is a silent disease and most often do not have any symptoms associate with it. The best way to know if you have hypertension is by keeping a blood pressure log at home.
