How will the hospital prepare you for heart bypass surgery?

Dr. Robert Binford
Surgery - Thoracic
In brief: Depends
Every hospital and surgeon are different.
You will definitely need an angiogram to identify any blockages before surgery which is done by your cardiologist. Lab test, crossmatch blood, chest x-rays are usually needed. A lot of times an echo is done. Some like special soaps the night before surgery to reduce infection. Also special ointments in the nose. Then the paperwork like consent forms.
