In brief: Not many

There are many coronary bypasses done.
Less than2% die within the first 30 days of surgical issues. All of us die sometime!

In brief: Comorbidities

Mortality will vary for same operation depending on how many other things are wrong in addition to the coronaries.
For example, mortality and morbidity for a person in the 80's, renal failure on hemodialysis, severe copd, morbidly obese and uncontrolled diabetes with previous myocardial infarction will be higher than a person without any of those. It is not the operation but on whom it is done.

In brief: 2 %

The society for thoracic surgery keeps statistics on a majority of heart surgery done in the United States.
The average mortality for bypass surgery is approximately 2.5%. However, the risk for an individual patient is highly dependent on the characteristics of that patient. The range of risk could be as low as 1% and as high as 40%.
