In brief: Not age related
The development of coronary artery disease is related to patient factors, including diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure, and smoking, among others.
If these are severe or poorly controlled, CAD can develop at an early age.

In brief: Depends
Unfortunately, we are finding coronary artery disease in younger and younger patients everyday.
This used to be a disease of the older population, but now we see it in people who are no older than 30 years old at times, especially if they are diabetic or if they smoke heavily. However, it is still more commonly encountered in people older than 50 overall.
