The Progesterone IUD is a safe effective birth control method.
The main risk is that it falls out (1/1760). Failures are very rare but if pregnancy occurs the risk of an ectopic pregnancy (being pregnant in the fallopian tubes) is 25%. There is a very small risk of injury when it is being inserted.
